Chris Cha

Lead Pastor

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Anchorage in 1995. It was here that I met the love of my life, Anna, and we got married on September 11, 1999. We have five wonderful children, Tommy, Theo, Isabelle, Sage and Zechariah. We love the city we've been called to minister in.

Growing up, I had a basic understanding of the Christian faith and even claimed to be "saved." But, it was during the summer of 2001 that I encountered the risen Savior through the gospel. I came to see my sin for what it really was, received the grace of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, and surrendered ownership of my life to HIM.

I initially received the call to ministry in 1997 but ran away from it and pursued the things of this world. It wasn't until the summer of 2002 that I submitted to the call of God on my life. The words of John the Baptist still ring loudly in my mind that Jesus must increase and I must decrease (John 3:30). I dove head first into youth ministry and have been serving since 2003.

The desire to plant a church was birthed in my heart on March 2010. Pastor Brad Sutter and the elders of Cornerstone church graciously brought me in to serve at Cornerstone and to prepare me to plant a church in the future. God had given Brad a vision in 1996 that Cornerstone would be a sending station, and it was during this time that the desire to plant churches was born. On January 11, 2015, Cornerstone Church launched Kaleo Church out into the city of Anchorage to know God and make Him known.

I love Jesus Christ and the glorious message of the gospel. I love the church and long to see it mobilized for mission and empowered by the Holy Spirit boldly testifying to the good news of Jesus Christ in our city, state, nation, and the ends of the earth.
