GOD is awesome and orchestrated the birth of Kaleo! God had placed a desire in the heart of Pastor Brad Sutter at Cornerstone Church in Anchorage Alaska to one day plant a church. Years later Pastor Brad met Chris Cha, who was on track to start a church. However, Chris didn't want to just go out and start a church on his own. It was really important to Chris to be sent out by a local body.
What a perfect fit! Cornerstone church brought Chris on staff to Pastor their Life Groups with the plan to send Him out to plant a church in the future. Cornerstone had such a heart for sending out a Church to the glory of God that they told Chris to "fish from our waters" and to take anyone who felt led to go with him.
In 2015, Kaleo Church was launched intentionally, with great love and purpose by Cornerstone Church. There were many families who joined the mission of Kaleo. We are so blessed to have been so supported by a parent church. Not only did they give us support financially but they also gave us accountability to their Elder board until we were able to have our own in place. It was such a cool day to have Pastor Brad come and install the elders at Kaleo about a year later... such a sweet time.
God has blessed Cornerstone and great things are going on for the Kingdom through them and throughout other churches in the City of Anchorage. God is also using and growing Kaleo for His purposes and we are so thankful to be a part of His work in the City. We hope to also be a Church that God uses to send out and plant more churches for His glory.
