Opportunity: Kaleo Kids Assistant Sunday School Teacher
Summary:
Kaleo Kids is a thriving ministry for children centered around the good news of Jesus. Kids learn that God made them, He is the rescuer from sin and death, and He will make all things new. Curriculum comes from the Gospel Project. Every lesson comes back to a Christ centered connection. We see Jesus from Genesis to Revelation. Kids play games, do crafts and activities, laugh and have fun together.
Time Requirements:
10:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. One Sunday a month for nursery, toddlers, and PreK. Two Sunday’s every 6 weeks on a rotational schedule for K-5th classes.
This Position Reports to:
Children’s Ministry Director, Lucy Matthew, lmatthew@kaleoalaska.org.
Responsibilities and Authority:
- Assist lead teacher with classroom management, activities and teaching as needed.
- Check-in with your lead teacher on Saturday night to confirm for Sunday morning.
- Attend 10:45 a.m. devotion/communion on Sunday Mornings that you are scheduled to serve, led by Pastor Chris for church wide ministry team of volunteers for that Sunday.
- Access Ministry Grid for Online lesson plans and dates.
- Accept scheduling confirmation on Planning Center for Kaleo Church.
- Attend quarterly children’s meeting for one hour after church, (4 times a year.)
Qualifications:
- Member of Kaleo Church
- Enjoy working with and caring for children (Nursery – 5th)
- Pass basic background check through Department of Justice, paid for by Kaleo.
